Five days of private training with no group to keep pace with. The course is shaped around your starting point, so if hairlines are the problem, more time goes into hairlines. If it is blending, pigment behaviour or confidence on real skin, that is where the days go.

Some people learn best in a group. Others want to ask questions as they go, repeat a technique until it clicks, and spend more time on the areas actually holding them back. That is where one-to-one training makes sense.
Private training is a more concentrated format, designed around the person in the room. You work directly with Alex for the full five days, with the curriculum adapted to your starting point rather than a fixed syllabus.
One-to-one training is useful when you want the trainer’s attention on your own work for the full course, rather than sharing feedback across a group.
It also makes it far easier to be specific. You can bring examples of work you are unhappy with, explain exactly where you hesitate during a treatment, and use the course time to address those issues directly.
If you are coming from tattooing, SPMU, barbering or another treatment-based profession, private training also cuts down time spent on concepts you already understand, which leaves more room for the SMP-specific technique you actually came for.
If your main reason for looking is to correct, refine or elevate technique you already have, the Advanced SMP Training page covers the same course with a fuller technical breakdown.

The private route is primarily for people who already have relevant experience and want a more focused format.
You can still apply, but expect a faster pace and a greater level of self-direction than on the Group Fundamentals course. Talk to us first and we will tell you honestly which route suits you better. Quite often it is the group course.
The private course is not built around pretending every student has the same strengths and weaknesses. We discuss your background before the dates are confirmed, then shape the week around what matters most. You still cover the core principles behind safe, consistent SMP. The difference is how much time goes into the parts most relevant to you.
Private training includes a complete live model treatment from start to finish across all three sessions. That matters because the decisions you make in session two and session three should be influenced by how the earlier work has healed.
Working through the full cycle lets you see past the immediate result. You learn to assess retention, density and the overall balance of a treatment as it develops, which is the judgement that separates competent work from good work.
Students bring their own live model for the practical work. If you genuinely cannot source one after trying, contact us before training and we will discuss the options with you.
Everything below is part of the course fee.
Private dates are not dependent on group demand. They are arranged once you and Alex have mutually available time.
Complete the enquiry form and tell us about your background and where you are in your career.
We discuss your current level, your goals, and the areas you want the private course to focus on.
One-to-one training does not depend on building a group, so dates are arranged as soon as you and Alex have mutually available time.
Pay a 20% deposit, with the remaining balance due 28 days before the course starts.
Course materials are sent ahead of training so the studio time stays focused on learning and practical work.
Training takes place at Hair Savvy Studio, Unit 2, 28 Elizabeth Road, Halesowen, Birmingham, B63 4BQ. The studio is close to Junction 3 of the M5 with free parking on site. If you are travelling for training, ask for the confirmed timetable before booking accommodation.
Both lead to the same accredited certificate. The difference is pace, format and how much of the trainer’s attention is on you alone.
